Synopsis: (MAY contain spoilers)

Tobi (Taye Arimoro), living as a pauper has just lost his mother who made him promise to find his long lost twin prior to her passing.

Kelvin (Taye Arimoro) who is wealthy is married to Dara (Bambam Olawumi Adenibujan). He wants absolutely nothing to do with his twin. But would later hatch a selfish plan taking advantage of his brother’s financial situation.

What was the plan? How did things pan out? How will this affect all involved? Well, why not grab your popcorn and favourite drink, munch and sip along as you follow events unfold in this family drama with a runtime of 2hours 16minutes.

MY TAKE:
Straight up, Taye Arimoro took me by storm with his interpretation of the ghetto boy Tobi character. What!!! His pidgin English on the voice over…naaaah! Can’t get over that in a flash!

Bambam equally did a thing with her role for the most parts except for the pen ultimate scenes that required some level of active vibes which she interpreted in the best way she can.

The storyline though largely predictable IN MY OPINION especially from the second act, it however is relatively different from the usuals in recent times.

Loved the foreshadowing start. Camera quality was crisp

The interior of Dara’s house is breathtaking. Couldn’t stop admiring her kitchen and picturing myself cooking some delicacies in there! Love me a good decor through and through!

Although the story and plot all worked together from the beginning and progressed ever so brilliantly, it however lost its grip towards the end of the third act leading up to the very end. This then sort of watered down the strong hold this had built up for a viewer like myself.

To put this into perspective, here are some:

OBSERVATIONS/QUESTIONS:
1. I had anticipated seeing both brothers together in one scene. When this didn’t happen in the beginning, I let it slide believing it was a tool or substance for suspense. When this didn’t materialise at all till the end, I felt disappointed.

Nollywood of old gave us this thrill so much so that people at some point concluded that the likes of Genevieve Nnaji was a twin in real life for how the editing was done them days in one of the movies. Now, this is 2025 when even skit makers like Maraji, Taaoma and the rest are pulling up double images of themselves. I thought this would have come in handy in this movie.

2. Tobi said since his twin left, he had not been paid. He appeared to have left the ghetto penniless. So, which money was he spending buying gifts for Dara? I guess he was paid an upfront but that wasn’t established as we were made to understand he’ll be “…paid monthly!” Bianca (played by singer WAJE) stated this.

3. After realising he had resigned from his “job” and he owned up to it, why then did Dara later on pack up food for him wishing him a “good day at work?” Did I miss something?

4. Wait! That sales girl at the shop didn’t confirm receipt of payment via the app and she packed up the clothes for a customer? Wasn’t she supposed to give some receipts? Na so una dey do for Lekki?

5. Who was the “sis” Dara was always talking with on the phone?

Does anyone know? Please, I’ll need help with that!

6. When the barrister came to tell Dara and her brother Ekom (played by Paul Uma) about Tobi, Dara didn’t even try to confirm or go see him at the police station to hear from the horse’s mouth. She just took it hook, line and sinker.

7. We didn’t get to see the eloped couple on their adventure in Germany however shortlived! Well, I guess they had to stick to budget. It’s not easy to pull that off in a film especially when constrained financially. But hey! Some make-belief would have been helpful, right?

8. The ending was filled with more inconsistencies. “Four years later” we’re seeing a pregnancy and an under two-year old baby boy and someone stating we’re “…expecting ANOTHER PRINCESS!”

What happened to the pregnancy BEFORE the “four years later”? Was there a miscarriage, still birth or what?

Furthermore, will there be a sequel to this movie? I would have loved to see Kelvin’s reaction after his 10-year thingy.

Though the duration was long and dragged, Tobi’s character and monologue made it a bit bearable. Still, I have my ways.

Overall, this was interesting, engaging and entertaining. It just didn’t maintain the strength it started with and could have been a whole lot better and more intriguing.
