Written, directed & produced by Tyler Perry (also starring as Madea, Pa/Uncle Joe & Brian), this 2025 1hour 42minutes comedy is now streaming on Netflix.

SYNOPSIS: (MAY contain spoilers)

Madea Simmons (Tyler Perry) is in for some treats. Her granddaughter Tifanny Simmons (Diamond White) is getting Married in two weeks and it’s a destination wedding.

Brian Simmons (Tyler Perry) & Debrah (Taja V. Simpson) as the parents of the bride to be, even though divorced, have to make it work at least for their daughter’s sake.

Pa Joe (Tyler Perry) is the head of this large family but he has his ways. Now as they all head to The Bahamas for this lavish wedding, things start to unfold.

MY TAKE:
Phew!

What a chaotic, loud and rowdy piece of comedy.

Quite typical of the Madea franchise I’d say.

With exaggerated and dragged scenes, excessive talks and repeated dialogues, this comedy however offers some thought provoking moments of family dynamics. Pretty much Tyler Perry style of storytelling at this point especially for this genre.

Lots of colours flying around (yeah it’s summer, I know right)

But I think TP is deliberately giving us a character in his comedy movies who goes about wearing all the colours (same thing happened in “She The People” series).

There’s upbeat sounds, great editing (especially having one actor play three characters and have them in same scene, seen in close proximity at the same time). Good storyline (which ain’t exactly new), nice plot and direction. This is a movie you watch to relax without expecting much!

The movie delivers some comic elements albeit some very dry, meaningless & demeaning jokes thrown here and there. However as with most TP movies, there’s some good take home lessons with some touchy moments. Wait a sec., why didn’t those passengers wear their seatbelts in that plane during a flight?

Although some bits of the plot was predictable & some didn’t make sense like the arrangement for the divorce with Debrah’s second husband, this is nonetheless a good watch. Something for a nice Netflix & chill weekend. Haha! I knew Brian’s credit card was about to BLOW UP at the check out point

Oh Pa Joe! Who the H does that!
